NEIGHBORHOOD:
Quinta la Paz sits on the hillside in the north of the municipality of San Juan del Sur which is located in Nicaragua’s southwestern province of Rivas. There is a population of about 16 000 in the greater San Juan del Sur area, but less than half live in the town itself.
This quiet fishing village on the horseshoe-shaped bay attracts local and foreign tourists. Many of the wealthier Nicaraguan families own a second home in San Juan.
At the beach promenade are several restaurants specialize in seafood.
There is a small indoor market, shops and a modern supermarket. Buses connect San Juan with Rivas and Playa Madera.
There are some nice restaurants offering the catch of the day in the vicinity of the house, at Playa Madera and Playa Majagual.

Provincial capital featuring markets, churches, colonial architecture. Easily accessible by bus. - Granada and Isletas:
Granada, a beautiful old colonial town is situated on Lake Nicaragua. From here you can catch the ferry to Ometepe, San Carlos and Solentiname or take a boat trip to the Isletas, etc. - Ometepe Island:
The Indian name for this island means “two mounds” as it was formed by the two volcanoes of Concepción and Maderas.
With a size of approximately 270 sq km (104 sq miles) it is the world's largest volcanic island in a freshwater lake. - San Jorge:
